Matthew McGee is an award-winning actor, singer, and writer with over 25 years of experience in regional theater, including notable roles at the Hippodrome Theatre, Asolo Repertory Theatre, freeFall Theatre, and Walt Disney World. Recently named Best Actor in Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay 2022 for his performances as James Beard in I Love to Eat and Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express, he has also earned a Theatre Tampa Bay Award for his portrayal of Mother Superior in Nunsense A-men. Known for his versatility, Matthew has played a wide range of roles, from Edna Turnblad in Hairspray to Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. He co-created the cabaret act The Scott & Patti Show, appears in Life’s Rewards on Amazon Prime, and serves as the Community Outreach Director for freeFall Theatre. A respected figure in both performance and arts administration, Matthew continues to bring his dynamic talent to stages across the region.
